Default Dash Pad Installation

Appears AC cars have different dash pad retention clips? My installation hardware kit has rectangular clips and looks to need 'square'. I have my new 'Just Dashes' original pad coming and want to install correctly.

Any idea where I can get the correct clips? Thanks

AFAIK they are not available except as used. And the used ones usually break when removing the pad.

You are talking about the two on the outside far left and right that the pins go into? If so, yep, I couldn't find any, think I ended up using one of the originals and opened up one hole to use a rectangular. If you have to open up a hole ... remember to split the difference top to bottom so the pin is still centered.

It amazes me that no one is making those yet. I guess it's certainly easier turn a square hole into a rectangular one than it is to do the opposite.

Here’s what they look like compared to the single rectangular one for a non AC car.
On the side shot you can see how these grab on to the edges of the square (or rectangular) cutout in the dash.

I used a fender washer and a wing nut to hold mine, the repro clips were too rigid imo.

Zappa if you need these 2 clips they’re yours. I’m paying it forward for help I’ve received from many here through the years. My MIL is at an independent living place (Mercer Hill) so we’re there frequently. Of course I can mail them too (but then I won’t be able to see your car in person &#128521 PM me if you’re interested.
