10si alternator questions
Hi group, I have two questions. One big and one small.
I'm thinking about doing a conversion to a 10SI 100 amp alternator on my 1967 firebird with stock 326. First question is can you share a part number for an alternator that will bolt right in? The second question is a big one. Can you share a diagram of how to wire in the new alternator that will allow the GEN light to work? Thank you Last edited by Hotrodjohn71; 09-22-2022 at 04:35 PM. |

On my 67 GTO, I used a Powermaater 7294 (can also use an 8002) and American autowire 27555 alternator conversion plug adapter. Also used the same setup for my 69 Caprice. All are available from Summit Racing.

Thank you Blue67Gtoragtop,
How do you like your Poweraster 7294? Since I posted the original post, I pulled the trigger on one of those and ironically, it just arrived today. |

It has been great. I’ve had it installed about 2 years now with no issues. The American Autowire kit basically made it plug and play.

Internal regulator 10-SI alternator
In it's most basic form, here is the diagram to wire an internally regulated alternator so the original "red" dash light will still function.
