Does anybody have a real knowledge on torque converters? The big question is torque multiplication factor. How does it effect your vehicles performance? As far as I can tell the more the TMF (1.9-2.2)the tighter the converter is. I also belive that the pontiac likes as much TMF you can get without blowing the tires off. It just seems like the opposite for the chevy guys. They seems to like the real lose converters (1.5-1.7). If somebody could inlighten this subject.

Try calling Coan Engineering in Kokomo, Indiana. They have been very good explaining the ins and out of the convertor.
