Do I miss $.50 a gallon gas? Sure. Minimum wage was $2.00 and hour. So it wasn’t really that cheap.

Around 65-66 in Mi. gas was around $ .17-19 per gallon at these two stations across the road from each other. One day Jim dropped his to $ .13. 1968 Sunoco 260 would be $ .36.

Got my license in 1986. Gas was about .85/gal - and I was working for $3/hr. I worked an hour for 3.53 gallons of gas. Car got 15mpg. Thats 52mi/hr.

2019: Gas is ... lets say 3.25/gal. People can work for $15/hr. 4.62 gallons per hour worked. Small car gets 30mpg. thats 138mi/hr.

That explains it.
