Default Frt rear nos window trim

Anyone have any NOS front/rear window trim for 70-4 cars laying around and possibly for sale?
Complete set or just pieces would be ok

Tough find. A good second choice would be to buy a new set, test fit it, then send it to Paul's chrome in PA.

Or...look up the actual part numbers to search for.

I'll make a start for you as I have one here.

Top rear strip is #9690565. Also listed as #8798351 (1970).

The top rear corners are #9854740 RH / #9854741 LH.

Rear window LH bottom corner is #8799269, RH is #8799268.

Front windscreen 70-81 top is #9808500.

Front windscreen 70-81 LH trim is #9868731 (#9841148 1970), RH trim is #9868730 (9841149 1970).

So that shop does aluminium anodizing of parts?

Paul's will chrome plate the Aluminum.
Originals were stainless in early 70's. Even NOS units are often made in the 80's are are not Stainless from what I have seen.

It’s rare I disagree with something Bruce posts but All Second Gen window moldings were made of aluminum and are bright dipped. Never stainless Second gen moldings

Drip mouldings could be either in later years. My reply was more that it may not be clear to others that the trim was being sent off for 'chroming', but simply a guy who specialises in different metal coatings.

Norwood, flick over the 1970 thread, I had a question.

I just had some in my hand, front window, was tf First Gens with stainless? I have owned a bunch of them.
I need to check on that and thanks for the correction.
I have had the aluminum chrome plated and looked beautiful, as original.
I never asked about just Zinc, but I surmize the chrome will last much longer.

I have stripped the bright dip off of moldings and polished them with good results. Here is an explanation of bright dip. https://aerospacemetalsllc.com/what-...dip-anodizing/

I do have the part numbers list for all of them but thank you for going the extra mile.

Seems they are not saying, but bright dip sounds like a zinc coating to me which is bright once polished.

There used to be a place in Paris IL that did bright dipping. It was/is called M&B plating. We used them to hard anodize aluminum rotors in our roots blowers at work to pneumaticly convey grain.

Anyway here is the process…

Bright Dipping involves a solution of phosphoric and nitric acid which smoothens microscopic roughness, changing the texture of the surface. Often, additives are introduced to the blend to enhance its brightening ability and reduce nitrogen oxide fumes. Because it smooths out the tiniest irregularities on the surface and leveling the tiniest peaks and valleys, the aluminum comes out with an enhanced, highly reflective sheen.

Once this process is complete, the parts are clear anodized.
