A Harley racing legend. 1930-2023.
First bike to run in the eights.
Won TF bike @ Indy 3 times in the 70’s.

In '61 (or maybe '62 or '63) at the Indy Nationals, was it Joe who I watched "dismount" his drag bike at about 170 mph? I don't recall that he (or whoever it was) getting badly hurt.

I remember E J Potter stepping off of his bike one time at high speed.
This was with the bike with the V-8 engine mounted sideways.
That bike tore up the woods on the end of the track but the V-8 engine was still running.

There would not have been any trees around at the INDY event.
