Default 67 Underdash A/C box questions

Hello everyone,

I'm replqcing the heater core on a 67 Grand Prix, A/C car. While I have the box taken apart I thought I would do a light restoration (replace the 55 year old foam, etc).

I have the box most of the way taken apart but I can't figure out how to get the doors that control where the air flows out of the box. (Maybe thats not what these doors do??)

Has anyone taken one of these boxes apart, if so, how do I remove the doors and their shafts?




The two doors on the top (in the pic above) open seperately. It looks like the shaft they ride on is retained by the levers that operate the doors (pic below).



The doors on the bottom (they are open in the first pic) open and close together. The shaft they ride on is retained by a little metal collar (see pic below).
