Check if this makes sense. (If it's the original trunk lid.)

33rd week of 64 (late Aug) 2nd shift, Arlington

Going by my own car the body stampings usually preceded the build by as little as a few days to a few weeks. I had a Z in my code which corresponded with the build plant (Fremont)

To far off, the lid I'm sure is original it's a 70 lid. The research I've seen, shows the first two digits as the plant the lid was manufactured from. So the questions is who made the trunk lids for the Pontiac's, were they all done in one place for all then shipped to the plants if that's the case then all should start with 33 .

My bad. The year is implied since I thought it was for the 65 in your avatar.

So when was the car built?

Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will step up and clarify.

Will ck the original decklids on my '71's tomorrow, & later this week, customer's May built '70 GTO.

On GM stamping plants, there were none west of the Mississippi River. Formed sheet metal was shipped to most assembly plants. Michigan, Indianna, & Ohio had the stamping plants. The Flint stamping plant had a strike in the Fall of '69 that eventually effected numerous product lines.
