Default Gas problems

Ok fresh rebuilt carb, new fuel pump, new lines, new tank, new sending unit, new gas cap, will not start on its own have to add gas to the carb, had the same problem before I had the carb rebuilt as well, at first I thought it was the acceleratior pump in the carb, after rebuild same problem any ideas?

Check the fuel pump acentric cam if nothing else works. I had a 67 G/P that gave me a lot of problems. The timing chain was changed at one time and the cam was installed incorrectly and the tab was in the wrong spot. Now I know why the car had low mileage and was a steel. Good luck! Bob

Bob, I would think that it would not work at all if in incorrect? This runs as long as you prime it.

My car ran and on hot days it would like vapor lock, but it was the cam because I did everything you did and still had the problem. I would not have found it if i didn't pull the motor to give it a refresh. I don't know how it ran but it did even on a 1 hour drive and never starved for gas.

The position of the cam made it work ever so slightly.

Does it do this even after it has been run? Like even the next day? I know I use to have that problem with ethanol fuel drying out after several days and a few of my vehicles I actually had to pour gas in carb to get going.

The only time I had a problem was when it got hot and then stall and wouldn't start until it cooled down a little. I always thought it was vapor lock and maybe it was with such low fuel pressure. Cold start was perfect.

Problem found, brand new line had a cut in it on top of the rear frame rail.
