Probably depends on whether it’s a GTO/Le Mans plate or a Tempest plate.

The Tempest plate is a lot easier to find.

Rare, as the radio was a cheap option and one did not choose to delete it per say, just not order it. Many cars that did not get one ordered had the dealer add it after the car was delivered. Only the cars that were meant to be race cars left it off on purpose. Lemans was more rare as it was not a stripped down work car, like a Tempest, and Pontiac was always more upscale than a Chevy.

...or it could have been that the original owner was cheap, or simply didn't like listening to a radio.. If my dad had ever ordered a new car, I'm pretty sure he would have bought it without one.

While searching for a 64-65 radio delete plate a few years ago for a friends project,
they were on average selling for between 100/140. Just below the aftermarket price of 150.

Condition as with anything is key.

Thanks looks the same as the car I’m working on I’m pretty sure this is a real GTO.
