I believe these units show commanded duty cycle. They rely on the wideband o2 to determine if what is being commanded is actually happening.

Here's the ****ty part of that equation. There's only a single sensor and it's usually on a single bank. If you have an issue like what gman005 had and it's occurring on the bank that isn't being monitored by the o2, all kinds of stuff can happen.

If a dual plane manifold is being used, the effect is somewhat less since opposing cylinders will typically be seeing the same throttle bore. If a single plane is used though, you get a couple dead holes at best, or a couple insanely lean holes at worse.

Is this just particular to the Sniper units? Surely the Terminator X(Max) and Dominator monitor pulse width on the injectors...

Anything running the Holley HP software should be recognizing actual injector pulsewidths. I know the software has that capability.

The Terminator is "upgradable" to the holley HP software, so it may not do that in its as delivered package. That's speculation though.

For this purpose we would be talking about the basic Sniper system. Though that's really speculative as well.

I know that the FiTech will read individual trouble codes for injectors. I don't know if it can read pulsewidth signal from the injector itself, but it at least knows if an injector isn't firing and which one/s it is.

Yes the Snipers have real time injector pulse width, well at least our super snipers do. You can data log it and even just watch it on the hand held touch screen. You can also watch or log duty cycle.

They should've shipped you a new unit immediately when a brand new one was no good out of the box... Any ETA on when you'll get it back?

I dealt with Chris at EFI System Pro in Florida. Excellent service, spends time on the phone with you to diagnose issues and always returns calls and emails.

He had some of the best prices around when I was shopping, and offered a discount when we bought 2 units. It wasn't a special, he just offered it.

He has a lot of tech info on his website and sells a lot of other related products. I'd recommend him to anyone. He also comes highly recommended on Holley's own EFI forum and does post on there from time to time.

Yep, the usual practice is to send a new unit with a return label so you can send the other one back.

Not sure why they didn't do that.
