Will do Brian!

As the only poster here to have actually sat in the car so far - I owe you that at least! Your lovely thank-you gift of a Bill Campbell signed Hurst Shifter desk ornament is on it's way to you.

Thanks again my friend!

Chris..that is an awesome find! TONS of options...beautiful!!! Congrats my friend! The stripes would be the strobe kind...I believe the sword was only for GT optioned lemans. Sorry, but there is no break down of how many were auto vs. manual. There is break down of the GT's and coups, but not the lemans verts and hardtops. Here's the total breakdown for 455 HO optioned Lemans:

102 total

21 were lemans GT and 81 were Lemans

GT breakdown:
14 Hardtop (10 M22 and 4 M40)
7 Verts (2 M22 and 5 M40)

81 Lemans breakdown:

9 Coups (5 M22 and 4 M40)
26 Verts - No break down
46 HT - No break down

A safe assumption would probably be about 50-50 man vs auto....anyway you slice it...an ULTRA RARE car that isn't a GTO! SHaWINNNNNGGGGGGG!!!! Anybody can get a GTO...

I'm beginning to thing all these HO lemans were Lucy Blue....lol That thing is in such nice shape Chris, I wouldn't dare touch it! (repaint) How many ultra rare cars are survivors like this one??? This is almost like finding an original 71 Judge vert.....any of those in such original condition? Wow... makes me want to step up the work on my HO lucy now...

It's unfortunately not original paint Pat - it's had a driver quality repaint some time in the past and both the seller & Brian who looked at it said it will likely need a repaint - there looks to be some damage hidden in the lip of the trunk lid (I'm getting another deck lid with it) and there's a chip on the rear of the passenger quarter. I'll have time to go over it soon, will decide then.

Otherwise, from what I've been told, it is really nice, and not "fluffed" in any way - those are straight shots, in the driveway, no special lighting, no armor-all or detail prepping etc. Some cleaning and a weekend's worth of swapping/upgrading parts will make a world of difference.

Thanks for the stats - I e-mailed Dan Jensen the other night, but haven't heard back from him yet - I think he's at Stanton, MI for the weekend.

Yes - this is the car I needed the dash for!

Chris - I'm damned near speechless, my friend.

You have hit the HO jackpot. What a gorgeous, loaded HO 'vert! And Lucy Blue / Tuxedo simply puts it over the top.

Congrats!

nice score, but next time try to find one with a few options. that has to be close to a record on the number of options listed on the phs.

[QUOTE=The Boss;4417827]I'm planning on swapping out the custom cushion wheel for a Formula wheel I have QUOTE]

I need that steering wheel for my 71 Lucy, will you be parting with it? The wheel we have now is just like that without the wood-grain.

While some here were calling me the "King of the HOs" a few years back, there's a new HO sheriff in town, fo' sho'! And he's packing the heat, LOL!

Just for fun, here's a '72 GTO invoice and build sheet that has even MORE options, Gary. Monarch Yellow WW5 car out of Austin.
Remember that the WW5 package included several options which could have been ordered separately . . .

two short on the phs list, but with the inclusive options of the ww5 that is unbelievable amount.
72 just seems to be a banner year for loaded up luxury. one of my 72 HO lemans has somewhere around 28 factory options on the phs and one of them is the GT option and it is a sport also which i guess includes a few items packaged in them.

$4600 !!!!!!!! Are you kidding ???? I feel sick. I've already spent 3 X that much on my resto and ain't even half way done. It's like you went back 40 years in time and paid invoice. You, my friend, are one fortunate dude.

I have a copy of Dan's charts if you need 'em, Chris. Dunno if he has any interest in updating them . . .

Nice nice score Chris!

originally triple white, repainted burgandy back in the 70's. very untouched except for the paint job. when i first got it, people said it couldnt exist based on pontiac order forms (supposedly you couldnt get a gt and sport option together or gt option didnt come with endura i really dont remember, but when my contact i had at pontiac back in the day sent the what is now a phs sheet, it documented it. jim mattison told me one time that it was one of 4 automatics but wasnt sure that was a sport and gt combo. another interesting item that i havent for sure ever figured out, what wheels would have come standard because i think the sport came with one size/type and the gt came with another. it has 15" steel wheels and the guy i got it from swore it came that way with the poverty caps.
