Default 1967 Ventura

So for the past couple years my son (now 14) has talked about getting a Pontiac with a stick. Well, I just happened to be scrolling through Facebook Marketplace and came across a 1967 Ventura for sale. I'm kind of partial to the 67s so I opened up the ad and to my surprise the car had a 4 speed!!! I hollered to Colton to come out here to the computer and check out this car! He came running out of his bedroom and said how cool it was. I asked him if he wanted to go look at it and of course he said yes!!! We made the 2 hour drive to look at it and needless to say we brought another 67 home!

Needs a little work, but it's a cool car! What does it have for an engine?

Been awhile since I updated this. Here's the PHS on it. Didn't originally come with the 428 but still pretty cool being an original 4 speed!

Considering the way the rest of the car was optioned out, it's interesting the original owner chose the base 2 barrel carb engine.

The dealer code was this for a couple of cars I have record for:

Pontiac Motor Div The Rayvic Company

The car could have been used as a 'test' vehicle for some option and eventually sold after testing?
I think there was a thread about a car that went there on PY.
(66 Bonne or 67 GP?)

There was probably another BHC for the car possibly?
(when sold through a dealer)

I was involved in that past discussion about the Rayvic Company, it was a 1967 Bonneville that was used for the annual Aquatennial parade in Minneapolis: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...d.php?t=641787 We were able to track down the son of the owner of the Rayvic Company, there's some interesting info in that thread. Unfortunately, a couple links I posted back then to a picture of the place and a story about it are dead, but I just found a new link with a picture and history: https://secomo.org/wp-content/upload...vicCompany.pdf

COOL!

I didn't think it was that far back though?

Post 19 in that thread could very well apply to this car?

There was another discussion about a '68 Bonneville that was delivered to Ravic: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...d.php?t=761807 It seems like they processed a number of interestingly optioned cars back then.

That Catalina is a a neat car especially with the buckets and four speed. Pretty color combo too. Good luck with it and your son will have a nice car when complete. Its in way better shape than my car. Always good to see someone of the much younger generation enjoying the old cars, especially a full size. It certainty seems some unique: cars came through Rayvic via PMD.

I will be forever grateful to Stuart for getting me the information to contact the son of the owner of the Rayvic Corp that helped me document my 1967 Bonneville which has given it a great provenance..

Here is a link which hopefully will work from the April 2020 Smoke Signals article that had all the Rayvic Information. It starts on page 20 and Tim Dye did a superb job.. I had wanted to include some of the recent photos that Stuart had posted here for the article but they had to go for space .requirements.
