I am using APT's White Lightening shifter. After break in I drove the car from NC to South Florida. No issues with the trans itself but my shifter rattles at times. Console fits good and the shifter comes out in the correct place. My shifter handle itself is an aluminum Hurst I bought over 30 years ago. It's basically the same shape/dimensions as the original (71 T/A). It's funny, I paid $32.00 for it when I bought it and I recently saw it for $94.00.

The 5 speed is on my Y88 now and drove it about 450 miles yesterday so, have about 550 miles on it so far.
There are things I like and somethings I do not like but, giving it time and getting used to it. It certainly is an upgrade, much, much nicer than a 4 speed. will be adding it all up, etc but, it appears I saved about $1,000 by just buying the trans instead of the kit and buying the separate needed parts on my own. Stock cross member works just fine.
