Default Documentation for 68 Royal Bobcat paint scheme

Do any of you have documentation for the 68 GTO Royal Bobcat paint scheme that you could either send me or point me to? I'm looking for any kind of patterns or whatever exists to be able to duplicate it. Even close up photos would help.

I've seen different pics of the 68 (whole body pictures) and it looks like there were only the stripes on the fenders / doors along with the Royal Bobcat sticker.

Was it only in 69 that they had the white hood stripes, lower body panel side stripes and truck paint?

Thanks
Old Joe

Our '68 had only the secondary color on the decklid and up around the back window. Nothing on the sides or body lower or hood.

Springmist green primary color with black on the decklid.

That is really interesting. No hood stripes or stripes on the top of the doors / fenders with the Royal Bobcat logo either?

Do you know what month your car was built?

I don't. I have always assumed "early", and believe our car was one of the early cars which was used to develop the package.

But I do not have any data to support that.

There were some photos floating around online some years ago of a '68 that was, I believe, white with gold striping. If I recall correctly, it was a little closer to the 69 pattern. Anyone else recall that?
Couldn't find the car but this is the pattern. Not sure if this is based on a real car or not..

Thanks for connecting me with the story of your father's car. Really cool story and seeing how a real Bobcat was painted in 68 helps a lot. I've seen different variations for 68, but your photos confirm what I believe to have been correct, at least for some of the Bobcats in 68.

I noticed that on his drag jacket he had a patch from Great Lakes Dragaway, here in Wisconsin. As a kid, I remember hearing them advertise on the radio. Their commercials were really cool. They had the reverb effect going with a big voice guy talking and engines revving in the background. Anyone above the age of 0 with testosterone in them wanted to see those cars run when they heard the commercials.

One more question on the Bobcats........ What was the deal with Hurst wheels? I see them on some Bobcats and not on others. Thanks

Joe
