Default Cheap round port headers online

A popular auction website, we all know has 304 stainless, 1 7/8 primary long tube headers for about $200 shipped. 3/8's flange and 3" collector. With that price i bought a set. How can i not check them out? They are returnable, if i find they are complete garbage. I feel headers, most all of them require massaging, or some sort of modifying to install. I would hate to take a hammer and tweak the ceramic coat $800 dollar headers . Hell with these, at this price point i would pry on them with a backhoe and not feel ashamed. Item number 403340641254 on the bay

these have been around for quite a while, think theres some threads on here about them. sure wish they made them for 2nd gen F bodies... or wonder if they would fit those cars since ive heard some years of lemans will work on 2nd gens. i had a pair of hooker somp D port headers on a 2nd gen that i bought used from a guy that said they were on his 70 gto, they fit OK but not as good as headers made specific for those cars.

heres the hooker comps i had on a 78 t/a with a 455, bought from a guy that had them on a 68 or 69 gto. summit says they fit multiple cars of certain years including grand prix, lemans & 2nd gens, so it would makes sense that the stainless would fit on a 2nd gen too unless there is a major difference in the shape & tube configuration vs the hookers. for less than $200 shipped it would almost be worth a try???

I contacted the seller to see if they値l fit first gen firebird. Seller says they do. Anyone here have any experience with what fits first gen and second gen F-body? Although they allow returns, shipping is on the buyer plus a 20% restock fee. They look pretty nice in the pics. I wish I had more confidence in the fitment.

Hard to tell looking at their online pics... But I can't picture them clearing tie-rods on a 1st gen bird.

Just saying that was what I was told. Maybe search & read the older threads. Mine was just a few months ago. It was not very promising IIRC.
I have a set & was wanting the same info your looking for.

OK. ive read quite a few threads on these stainless headers, dont recall anyone trying them on a 2nd gen but maybe i missed that. i was just saying what i have used & has fit & what summit shows fits multiple cars & years... but like i said, maybe these cheap stainless are configured differently & wont actually fit on multiple cars like the hookers do.

you have a set of these stainless? do you have a 2nd gen firebird to mock them up & see if they fit?

I missed where you posted the link for the eBay ad. The pics there are probably better than what I’d post. So I’ll skip it unless it really matters to someone.

I've had the same Hedman Hustler headers on my car for over 20 years. A few years ago I found a set of the exact headers at Norwalk in mint condition (coated and hardly used) for $150. I bought them just for spares considering how much new ones cost. I haven't used them yet but have them just incase.

Test fit them to the heads before installing not all the holes are going to match up and some will need enlarged.

i dont think they are copies of dougs, havent read that anywhere, but could have missed it. they are just china made stainl;ess headers with their own specific tube shape. anyone else read they are copies of dougs or other brands??

but since skip confirmed they dont fit 2nd gens i guess it really doesnt matter for me... maybe if a bunch of guys with 2nd gens messaged the seller or maker saying they want some they would make them for these cars??? i sent my message.

OK I'll bite, at that price what could go wrong?

They should be a good match for the speedmaster round port heads I bought- at least for testing on a stand.

3 sets left now

If they are the same as my OBX they will NOT fit a second gen, slid them up on the Camaro IA when putting it together. Bolt holes were off also.

They might be a good base and just change a couple of tubes though. I think there is a thread here where a guy changed a tube or two to fit the Z bar on an early GTO.

I got the headers yesterday. After removing them from the box and inspection, i had only one thought. I have no idea how a company, whether its based in nowheresville china, or anywhere else for that matter, can make a header this nice, and sell it for less than $200. I am all about buying usa made things, but i had to bite on these. Flanges are true. Tig welds are nicely done, primary ports are clean with no booger's. Finish overall is beautiful. I will upgrade the header bolts and gaskets, but these had them included. If anyone wants a pic i will post a few. Install should come here in the next week or so. I will update this thread with pics and hiccups i come across at that time.
