Nice 1969 2+2 convertible in Hemmings
These Canadian Pontiacs were always rare and fascinating with their Chevrolet running gear. Appears to be a well preserved survivor with a nice color combo and well documented. The Lemans/GTO wheel covers don't look so bad on it either and this car would be quite the conversation starter at a Pontiac show.
Hopefully North will comment as he is very knowledge on these cars. https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1969-pontiac-22

Nice car - would be a lot nicer with a 427 though!

Not a fan of the Canadian cars because of the drivetrains but still cool because it's unique.
Agreed, the 427 would have made it! |

The few I have seen over the years for sale have had the 427 and I thought that was a standard motor, shows how much I don't know!

The 350 seems a bit weird but now I’m curious - anyone know if could you order an I6 in a Canadian 2+2?
I might be wrong but I seem to recall it being the base engine in Chevy FS for at least a while back in the 60s? |

This car belongs to my friend and I helped him buy it about 5 years ago from the second owner who bought it from the original owner in 1980. A really clean original car (especially by Canadian standards). Originally from Vancouver which Is salt free (unless you live by the ocean). The 2+2 was basically a trim and decor trimming of the Parisienne which in turn was one from the top in the Canadian pontiac pecking order. The 2+2 model (it was an actual VIN differentiated model) netted you buckets seats, console, side molding delete and tape striping and the wheelcovers you see on this car (the A and F body deluxe wheelcover with a black center cap instead of the red PMD center) The only mechanical part of the package was the base V8 (as opposed to the six that was otherwise standard in the other models).
For those not in the know the Canadian Pontiacs (strato chief, Laurentian, Parisienne, 2+2, grand parisiennne) were all the identical cars body and mechanical with the typical upgrades to trim inside and out. The first three came with a 250 six (chevy OHC, not the Pontiac OHC) and the last two came with a regular fuel 250 horse 2bbl chev 350. Optional engines were available on all and were basically the line of full size chev engines of that year 350-300 4bbl, 396-265 2 bbl, 427-335 and 427-390 horse 4 bbls. Missing for some reason was the regular fuel 255 4bbl 350 and the big dog 425 horse 427. These were not Pontiac’s with Chevrolet engines, they were 100% Chevrolet chassis and drivetrain with the shorter 119 chevy wheelbase (69 real Pontiacs had their own frame with 122 and 125” wheelbase). The interiors were mostly all chevy except for the use of the Pontiac dash. The doors and outer quarters were Pontiac but floors and trunk pan etc were chevy. Front clip looks like a 69 Pontiac but fenders and hood are specific to canadian cars and do not interchange. Tubs and rad support are chevy and the trunklid is specific and not interchangeable with US cars. Bumpers interchange with US models but bumper brackets and valences are unique. These cars sold really well, actually outselling full-size chevies in the late 60’s but the Canadian weather and crummy salt laden roads took their toll so very few decent examples left. This car is typically optioned with steering, brakes (drums), th350, power windows, radio etc. this car is super clean original with all its factory sheet metal but was color changed from its original Mayfair maize. Great cruiser and otherwise unmolested. If you ever buy one of these you need a clean one like this because there is zero support for sheet metal replacement. However the mechanical components are obviously plentiful and much cheaper than a real Pontiac when redoing a car. It’s an interesting car to drive, feels exactly like an impala because every mechanical component from wheels to suspension is identical. This means it drives like a smaller lighter car than say a Bonnie or Cat, sort of like half way between them and an A body.

At B-J a few years ago there was a '67 2+2 with an I-6. If I recall, it was light turquoise or blue with a red interior.

Interestingly the base 2+2 engine (250 horse 350 2bbl) came standard with single exhaust and duals were not offered as an option.
At the other end of the spectrum the 390 horse 427 came standard with duals. The three other optional engines came with single but duals were optional.
