Default Replacing Rear - Additional Items?

Hello all,

My new Ford 9" rear and Caltracs have finally arrived. I should have looked into this some time ago but, it now occurs to me to ask if while I'm at it, should I replace the U-bolts and the rear shackle hardware? Are these considered wear items or should these be upgraded as I am applying a lot more power and torque than factory?

Thanks

Yea I would replace them. I would also consider replacing the front spring eye receivers as well. Because the bolt into the frame and laminate, they are prone to trapping moisture and dirt, causing rot.

Inspect your upper shock mount retaining plates as well. Replace if necessary.

I thank you for the recommendations. I was considering installing these when I get the subframe connectors welded in. I'm just blown away by the cost but I haven't found anything comparable.

With the power you’re making those would probably be a good idea.

Hello again,

Anyone aware of other ways to reinforce the front spring pocket? I contacted Detroit Speed this morning and they're indicating that their heavy duty spring pocket kit won't work with Caltracs. I've been doing some www searching but haven't found anything as yet.

Thank you.

I would call Calvert and see if he has something similar in function that would work with
his Caltracks.
