Default Opinions on wiring harness manufacturers

Anyone have comments on particular wiring harness makers?

Lectric Limited
M&H
American Autowire

Originally I was thinking Lectric Limited, but I noticed they kind of dance around the made in the US question. Say all their Corvette, 57 Chevy and Jeep harness are made by them .... but not mentioning the thousands of other harnesses they sell.

Since all the prices seem comparable I thought I'd ask you guys about quality and lead time. I know they are ALL saying long lead times right now, so I'm ordering at least 4 months in advance.

I'll be getting an Engine Harness and AC/Heat harness.

I am 100% pleased with M&H and you cannot beat their tech support

AAW's update harness (blade fuses) is excellent.

Got an email from M&H yesterday saying they have a 6 month lead time. I'm still leaning in that direction. They manufacture all their stuff in house.

American Autowire products are excellent, and manufactured in Bellmawr, NJ. I also like M&H, but I wouldn't wait half a year for them if you can get an American Autowire kit sooner.

Just emailed Autowire for a time estimate. Could definitely use them before June.

Total rewire of both cars ('65 Cat, '66 GTO) with M&H, they were perfect!

Looks like I'll be going with Autowire ... they me and said the ETA for an engine harness is three weeks which works way better for me since I hope to be pulling the car in and out of the shop under it's own power by late April.

Appreciate the information folks.

I replaced my dash and engine compartment wiring with brand new from American Auto wire.

Very happy with the fit and all of the ends of the wire plug-ins were the right color/matched to the wire! Everything plugged in and worked the first time!

Have a new Engine and AC harness on the way from Autowire .. should save me about 20 hours of labor fixing and diagnosing the old ones.

M & H quoted me a "12-16 week" lead time back in July, but now it's looking like "late Jan to early Feb." "Too bad" that my engine was finished ahead of schedule, haha.

The problem is that they are having trouble getting supplies. worth the wait - if you can wait.

I just couldn't take the chance on the six month wait M&H quoted, if that turned into eight months it would be a disaster for me since I plan on having the car mobile in April. I'm guessing Autowire being US manufacturer is using all the same components and specs as M&H.

You're not sacrificing anything by going with Autowire, so rest assured you will be very pleased with your decision.
