Default GAA CLASSIC CARS

There are six really beautiful GTOs coming up for auction in February. Amazing to see such cars like a Matador Red '69 RAIV convertible and a '69 Expresso Judge RAIII convertible all picture taking together. Wish I was there! Better still, wish I was rich and the high bidder on all of them. What a way to start the new year.

Very cool,a ram air 4 convertible, you don’t see these come up for sale very often.I can’t wait to see what the Expresso judge brings.I am very curious to see if the market continues to trend upward.Between Kissimmee,Scottsdale, and this auction it should give a pretty good idea of where we are headed in 22.
Thanks for posting the link

Good Gracious that is just up the road from me, in Greensboro NC.
Greensboro Auto Auction
I think all 4 of those heavy hitter GTO's probably belong to the same guy.
For sure the two 69's and the 71 (same background pics)

There is also a 74 SuperDuty TA , and a 79 Bandit TA on the roster.

Surprisingly when you key in camaro or chevelle there are only a couple heavy hitter types .

All very nice. The brown Judge convertible looks like the car that Don-Ram4king had up for sale a few years ago as that car was sold in CT when new.

Was the stripe an available option on a non- Judge car? Just asking about the red cars stripe, would seen weird to go to that much detail on a restoration and then add a not factory stripe?

I was curious if that were his Expresso JVert - or a twin.
I thought Don Ram4King still owned his.

The Blue 70 IV Judge was previously owned by one or two PY members.

The White 71 WT7 Judge looks like a car that Mike Judge273 owns-or-owned , but I don't know if it is actually the same car or not. He also owned that Blue 70 IV Judge in the past.

Don't think I have ever seen the 69 Red IV Auto Convt before.
I do remember an almost identical high option 4spd IV Convt that was restored and sold several years ago.

It wasn't available on a 69 GTO.
All they could get was the lower body dual pinstripes , like the 68's had.
It was available on a 70 GTO though (D98 -- 69 sword stripe)

Appears the current owner had it installed by choice.
It looks good on the car
There is another picture of it from a previous Mecum and it didn't have the sword stripe then.... it had the lower dual pinstripes.

Baron, Both '70 & '71 Judges were owned by Mike (Judge273) and are great cars in high #2/low #1 condition. The '70 RAIV Judge was owned by my brother Dan before Mike and the engine was very stock with an original 041 cam, 10.5 compression and stock bottom end. Dan raced it once and turned easy 13.10's at 106 mph and has more potential than that. Such a nice car!

Dennis

No doubt about any car Mike Judge273 owns-or-owned being a top notch car.
If they need any finishing touches when he gets them, they get it.

On the Blue IV Automatic, when you see where the description says it was a Tiemann resto with Jensen mechanicals ... that spells quality labor/procedures throughout.

The White 71 is very very early production 08D and originated as a PMD Factory Car.
Unfortunately PHS does not have Invoice #1 on file , just Invoice #2.
Strongly believed to be an original WT7 Promo .... 1 of 15 or 17 ? WT7's produced in 1971
Only 3 or 4 are currently known. (1971)
Build sheet could not be found when car was searched .
Probably one of the most desirable 71 4spd Hardtops around.

The body color cowl on the Expresso 69 JVert sort of leads me to think it was not Don Ram4King's car.
Just a hunch, but he has-or-had his car a while and might would have corrected that himself.
coin toss until he possibly responds on here

When I try to expand the 69 IV Auto Vert Invoice they posted it goes fuzzy.
Can't make out anything on it hardly

Here is the brown Judge cv Don had for sale:

Different tires, but amazingly similar cars if not the same.

At one time there was a discussion about the 2 known Brown JVerts.
Seemed like they had an uncanny amount of things in common, even maybe the same selling dealer.
But - I might be blending too much trying to remember that far back about something I wasn't involved with.

As far as the dealership part , it might have just been that they sold more than one known 69 JVert.

I agree it is the same car Don was offering, with a new set of RWL tires.
And its finally racked up some road miles.

Both sets of pictures show AMFM , 8track , WoodWheel , Underhood Light , and the same yellow fuel line tag in the same location.

And Don mentions it was Over-Restored in areas (underbelly in body color)
So that's probably in-hand with the body color cowl in the GAA pictures.

Absolutely .
Thanks Andretti

The main thing I am most curious about is why the 4 big hitter cars are being taken to the Greensboro auction.
Maybe the owner(s) live in the area and its an easy effort to get them there.

Dont think its Don's old car due to his was from Belvedere, Illinois dealer and this one is from Russell Pontiac in Hartford Connecticut. Great looking car and would be hard to drive due to its restoration.

Brewster , check the link that was posted to Dons previous For Sale thread on here.
He states himself it was sold new at Russell in Hartford Ct.
