Any idea what this piece is? I have a left and right, but have no idea where they go.

Trunk 1/4 panel brace? Is the top part in the pic angled?

My car is not here to take a pic, but they went inside the trunk, kind of behind the taillight opening in the tailpanel. A support brace. Trunk floor to 1/4. My car is a LeMans convertible. I am not sure all cars came with these. I will try to find pics

hmm, this piece bolts down and is not welded in, plus its a light metal, but the tapered shape makes me think some trim panel is secured flush by its tapered design, how about a kick panel?
