Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I'm inclined to leave it at 108 as others have mentioned unless anyone can see a real reason not to.

I don't think you will see much difference between 108 and 106.
Thanks, I'm really leaning towards doing that, I'm realy hesitant on bringing it down to 106. Almost seems like deviating that far from comp's intended specs makes me think I should have chosen a cam ground on a 106.

Emailed him, but that's besides the point. 108 is close, I could end up messing with the timing on this cam and end up below 106. Jeff said he would try to get closer to 106 and I may actually give that a shot but if it ends up much lower then 106 with the available slots I have in the timing gear I will just put it back at 108. He actually sent me this cam when I asked for a reccomendation and said nothing about setting it at 106. If he thought this combo should run a 106 not sure why he would reccomend the 110 to begin with.

Dude, slow down, your even stressin me out. Stan Weiss a great contributor of analytics to this site is only giving perfect world results. 10 out 10 of the same spec built motors are not going to run the same. Kauffman , the Butlers and many everyday pontiac engine builders that do this everyday, I would take their advice and move from there. They deal with real world performance. If your really into tuning to best performance, you need to play with the cam timing and find what best works for your package. Its work to do that. Thats why guys like Langer and kinsler are it in the Pontiac world. No disrespect to anyone here, just my opinion.

The cam card says a LSA of 110 and the cam timing events are for an ICL of 110 degrees which would infer an installation with an ICL of 110. If Kaufmann recommended the cam install at an ICL of 106 degrees then that's probably where it should be. An ICL of 108 degrees probably won't matter much compared to 106 degrees so either way should be good. Repositioning at 106 ICL will only take another 15 minutes if you want the change.

Yeah I'm going to give it a try. I'm assuming I should use the plus 2 to get it from 108 to 106?

Ok, I tried the -2 that got me to 109.5 so I then went to +2 and I'm at 105.5. Kauffman suggested the 106 and that's where I'm leaving it. Should be ok I hope!
