Question Hood Tach Decal

Is there a definitive source on the orientation of the paint decal for the Pontiac Hood Tach?

Sorry to press this but please does anyone have an original tach they can check and let me know what they find? Does it face up or down relative to the dial face?

I believe John was referring to the tach on the left which is likely an original. I pulled my original tach out of storage and........... the decal is just the opposite of the one shown in the photo on the left. So......... I'm guessing whoever built the tachs wasn't too fussy and either way could be correct. Although mine is an original, it matches the photo on the right, which looks like a repop unit. My car was built in April or May of 68 (I forget which month).

Does anyone have any other vintage photos they can post that might help confirm which orientation is correct?

Well my car is no help, pulled the hood insulation back and you can see where the decal would have been at the left side on my original 67.
