Ignacio, I responded to your PM with a name and phone number of a guy in SE Michigan who has a ton of 2nd gen Firebird & Camaro parts. That's where I bought my dash insert and gauges from a few months ago. He may have everything you need except the hood. Good Luck!
I would also recommend starting a new thread topic on your car so it doesn't get confused with this thread. Also, here's how to add photo's you asked about in your PM...to add pictures scroll down to the Manage Attachments box, click on 'Choose File', select your picture (it's file number should show up in the box below), then click 'Upload'. If the picture file is too big, it will let you know and you'll have to resize it. Dennis |

I'm committed to installing the gauges & tach now. I took them to Bob's Speedometer Services in Howell, MI for them to check them over to see what they needed...which was everything. Even though they looked nice outside and in the housings, everything needs to be rebuilt and recalibrated...tach, speedo, fuel, oil, and water temp gauges. The volts gauge works well and just needs a good cleaning. It'll be $1500 by the time I'm done, but at least they will work accurately and look good. I took the gauges in Friday (Jan. 14) and they'll be done this Friday. I'm not having them restored as they look fine as they are.
The new (original for gauges/tach) dash harness looks great with just a minimal amount of repair needed. Thanks again to UnruhJonny! We're going to remove the front seats and center console to make it easier to lay on our backs to do the swap. It probably would be a good time to install a new heater core while it's all apart...hmm. Dennis |

Another example of "Mission creep". Nice work and nothing done half assed.

I wonder what's all involved in calibrating these gauges; I wonder if when done, they will read more accurately than they ever did from the factory!? I don't think it's possible for Dennis to do anything half-assed - that's probably why I always like to follow the threads about his and his brothers stuff!

Well Jonny, I sure hope so! Bob's (actually Bruce now) has rebuilt several of our car's gauges and they always have worked good as new and are accurate when compared to other gauges, like nice expensive Auto Meters. Since all the gauges (not the clock and volts) need work, it was more expensive than usual, but I wasn't going to hunt for another set of '70-only instruments. There must have been more corrosion in the gauge guts than I could see on the housings. I was hoping it would be 2/3's the amount, but I'm biting the bullet anyway.
Thanks for the nice comments about our work, but Dan deserves most of the credit. He's a stickler for correctness and doing things once the right way. Dennis |

Nice picture Craig! I sure miss that nice warm weather and the cruise to Dayton from Casey's in Van Wert was fun. I wish the concours judging didn't take so long as it made us miss the Tipp City cruise...first year that happened.
