Default BALANCE EXHAUST TUBE H PIPE

On my exhaust system consist of a 3.5 downpipe with then goes into a 3” Y pipe and splits into dual 3” pipes thru mufflers and full tailpipes would there be any Benifits to adding a (H) crosspipe to equal out exhaust to both tailpipes ?

IMO I don't think you will gain anything on that as it's coming from a single pipe and going to duals. I have a similar exhaust design but mine is 4" DP merging into two 3" pipe for the street. Nice exhaust piping, no mufflers?

At first I had no mufflers but it was to loud ,now have a set of flow masters and sounds good , this was an old pic of the exhaust before mufflers we’re installed , would like to see your 4” downpipe pics as I don’t think I have enough room by my valve cover …

Default muffler

I can't post any pictures as my engine and tranny is out and so is the interior. It was pretty tight as I have a midplate and front plate on my car. But with a lot of cutting and welding, a 4" fit. I think ur 3.5" works better for having a little bit of clearance. I also made a fender exhaust from a 4" and made my own muffler. But I fabricate everything myself so I make things work for me. How's your fuel injection setup working?

The fi tech is working great now ,I was able to upgrade the injectors to 120# so I feel better about having enough fuel with E85 , still need some fine tuning that I need to do a data log and send it off to a fi tech tuner in Texas ,

I personally love the way Flowmaster sound. But in a boosted application a chambered muffler adds more back pressure than desired. If your not looking for every bit of power available then you're good. Also Im not sure the H-pipe will add any value as your exhaust already is merged together to balance the pulses

Flowmasters don’t last either, get a Borla Stainless, it’s straight through, but not loud like the rest. You don’t get the hammer sound like a flow master either.

That Y pipe piece that you have in there is killing your flow er. The ones that I've seen only have an opening of around 2.5". Even it were 3" that means you now have the flow of a single 2.5"-3" pipe. The Flowmasters sound good but are horrible for a turbo car. The turbo works off of a pressure differential. Your backpressure in those pipes has to be high. You're gonna lose drive pressure on the turbine wheel the higher the backpressure in your exhaust pipes get. Like the others have said about the h pipe it'll only change the sound a little. I'd like to see you use a loud valve under boost in the 3.5" section somewhere. It works off of boost pressure to open it like a dump to let the pressure out if you haven't seen them.

Thanks Curtis for the advice , but how is my y pipe the same as a single 3” flow rate when it goes from 3.5 to dual 3” outlets all the way back ?

probably by the view in the pic. It looks as though the exhaust pipes neck down ALOT where they join into your down pipe....but with further study...its just cause its shiny..

Not trying to offend you but have you measured the opening in that Y? They make a piece just like that people use in the cold side. One of my buddies bought it for his car. We didn't use it. The opening that was left after the pipes merged together was less than 3". The s.allest diameter of the system will dictate how the whole system flows. There are much better splitters out there such as Flowmaster's Scavenger single 3.5" to dual 3"s that will not restrict flow like these do.
