Default 71GT-37 project

A good friend of mine bought a 71 GT -37 project car recently, it’s at my place currently waiting in line for full restoration. It’s a 400 wt, 3speed hd car. Quezsal Gold with Sandalwood interior. I pulled tank and found build sheet. Very early Fremont car. Thoughts??

Wow, the top of that gas tank and the build sheet are in really nice shape. what condition is the rest of the car in?

400, 3 spd, 3:55 rear. I bet that's a fun car to drive. I had a 71 GT-37 350 3 spd. I kinda liked the 3 spd.

Always interesting to find a build sheet .
Nice condition, especially for being on the gas tank.

Cool find!
Does he have the PHS for it?
That may have more than one PHS.

Quetzl Gold is a great color also.

He did get PHS. Car is in need of full restoration. Solid body with some rust here and there. Missing original engine and trans. Have located a complete 71 400 correctly dated carb to pan. Missing 3speed trans and shifter. Will be going back to all original configuration. Previous owner was going to LS swap it. Glad he got it in time to save it!

Would you be able to post a copy of the PHS too ?

Billed to PMD with xx-991 suffix
Along with no "Tagged For" type lineage on Bsheet
Appears to have started as a Zone Inventory Car - up for grabs to all dealers in the area.

Probably not a discounted/multi-invoice car
Really sort of fits into the model of a budget muscle ride GT-37
At least it got the 400cid with a clutch pedal and gauges

Will be interesting to see how quickly /slowly a dealer spoke for it on the PHS Invoice.
Can't make out date on Bsheet, but could compare Invoice Date to the Body Date on the trim tag.

Congrats to the new owner !

Gas tank looks relatively new for being almost 50 years old; if it is the one lowered.

Rotated the car and build sheet pictures.

Thanks! Bottom side of tank isn’t good and inside is probably questionable as car hasn’t ran since early 90s I believe

It’s the topside of tank as lowered from car. Tank itself is trash. Top was unexpectedly clean and has been dry. Also note location of tank stencil/ stamp mark. Every 69-72 original tank I have removed from original cars, is stamped on top side. Unlike every restored car that seem to have it replicated on bottom???
