Default Retro Sound radio reviews

I'm thinking of replacing my non-working AM radio with a Retro Sound Laguna:

I'm not an afficionato with massive speakers just want an FM radio for easy listening. Is there anyone familiar with this radio?

18 watts RMS X 4-channel is pretty puny if you ask me. And although it's a personal choice, I'm really not a fan of digital readouts in old cars, although it appears you can add an analog appearing overlay to help things out. Also, if you care about appearances, the knobs are incorrect, but perhaps you can swap them out for proper factory knobs. If you just want very basic FM radio, this might work for you, but it will be pretty bare bones.

What speaker(s) are you planning to use?

I bought the vintage style radio from Antique Automobile Radio for my '66. It has 45 watts RMS X 4-channel, wired aux input, Bluetooth connectivity for playing music and hands-free calling (if that's your thing - it isn't for me... no phone while driving), and has EQ presets, and a lot of other tech hidden inside. It also has correct knobs, although the AM/FM slider bar says "Stereo" rather than "Pontiac" as it should. But all that comes at a very hefty price... It cost nearly $700... Ouch.

Another option is having your original radio converted by Electro-Tech: http://www.turnswitch.com It's more expensive than the Retro-Sound but less expensive than Antique Radio. Since their conversion reuses your original radio chassis it will look correct.

As German sez LED display may not look right in earlier cars...

Default Radio Upgrade

I had my original AM radio chassis converted to an AM/FM unit that retains the original face plate, buttons and knobs. It was done back in 2005 - don't remember who did it. 4 channels - left right front and back. Works well. However, I don't use it very often as I rather listen to the hum of the 400. I have considered returning to an old AM unit.
