Car varies from PHS documentation
Just received my documentation from PHS, some things are missing which can be explained by age of car. What surprised me was PHS documentation shows power windows and power seat, my car has neither, seems unusual that someone would remove these and replace with manual items. Could factory have deviated that much from original build?

Make sure your phs has correct vin number.
I had one years ago and vin umber had one number wrong. It showed as different colors and was automatic instead of manual. Sometimes numbers get misinterpreted. If vin is correct on phs, don't know what happened between when built and now. Sent from my Moto Z3 Play using Tapatalk

Can you post the PHS? And cowl tag?
What car is this? Look and see if the doors may have been replaced? (wreck?) Could have been a flood damaged car also? Probably a few scenarios out there, or just something simple as pontiacman said.

Cannot say about your car but I have added power windows, rear defrost, power trunk lock to my car that were take offs from other trans ams onto my 78. As for my wife’s 69 I have added and deleted a few factory options as well. So for someone else to do it I would say yes it is possible. I would look and see if the holes are in the doors and “A” pillar for the wiring harness. Otherwise look closely to match vin on body shell to ensure vin tag was not switched somewhere in its life.

The VIN appears to be correct; it does match the title. Car is 67 GTO Coupe. I attached a pic of the data plate on car plus the docs from PHS. Other options on car are there (or were), rear window defrost, A/C, Power antenna, Block is YZ so matches 400 HO motor. Thanks for all the help

I got the car in May 21, car was originally burgundy but is now black so car has been through some level of restoration. A/C is out (I have parts), what is interesting is the A/C ducts inside the car are missing, again something that makes no sense but was probably lost/tossed when restored. Doors and A-pillar have holes.

one thing on the billing codes, The PHS documentation did not show what the codes in fields 74, 75,76, and 77, Any ideas? 74 is G, 75 is Y, 76 is Z, and 77 is J.

The 'G' is the gear ratio, I think.
The YZ is the engine code. The 'J' is the tranny code.

Cowl Tag shows the PW and Pseat. (and antenna and rear deck release among others)
Possibly someone didn't want to pay to fix the power windows and seat when they broke down? Power antenna still work?

That sounds right, my block is YZ, Trans is 400, only difference is my rear end is WH which is standard axle 3.55 not WF which would match the G code (WF)

Antenna still works, pretty cool when you turn on radio

Possibly when they did paint they decided to yank the PW and PS if non-working, seems dumb but I am sure worse has happened to our cars

When I finally got the PHS for my '65 after 20 years of ownership, I was surprised my car wasn't built with power steering or an outside rear view mirror. Somebody added the factory stuff before I bought it in 1982. Lots of changes were made to these cars when they weren't very old. If your car was raced, removal of the power windows and power steering would be the norm for the time period to save weight.

Another possibility for sure, luckily the door panels look original and the windows work great.

G in box 74 is the std. H.O. w/AC 3.23:1 gears. Add to that Saf-T-track code 731 and your car should have the YF stamped rearend. Sales code J for transmission is the PS (or late 1967 PX) TH400. On your billing card you have the engine unit number which you´ll find next to the block code on engine. And on the transmission ID plate you will find the unit number you have on you card. |

Would you not have to change at least the driver's door interior panel when switching from power to roll up?. That's a big rectangular shaped hole for the master switch on mine.
That's a lot of options on that car, much like our '67 LeMans. |

PMD had 2 ways of documenting cars not built as specified: A). If the deviation was caught early in the process, or was intentional (due to a part shortage, or whatever) then the build sheet and billing history card would get a typewritten note (ie "build without 504"). B). If the deviation was made after the fact then the billing history card would receive a hand written update, indicating the change in options and necessary price adjustments. In any case, if higher cost options are paid for then they have to be provided. Not doing so is a violation of FTC regulations and would open the manufacturer up to investigation and potential fines and penalties. K

Would the changes then be reflected on the window sticker? PHS is mailing me the window sticker so I don't have it right now. Would be interesting if they show up on there.
66Sprint6 - yes you would have to change the door panels, imagine you would have to change the window mechanism as well. |

I believe PHS just uses the BHC options to put on the window sticker?
Mike Noun may know for sure?
