Default Brake line brackets

Quick trivial question to any with original vehicles or that part out many.

These repro brake line brackets come in black. I have a few used pieces with the stamped part numbers on them. Some appear to have been black, or at least oversprayed at some point, another looks to have never been painted but given dark grey zinc treatment. Many restored vehicles seem to have them painted silver as well, or even silver zinc plated like the retainer that bolts onto it.

whats the trivia question? all the ones i have seen on mid/late 70s-81 cars were black. when i restored 3 of my cars i repainted them satin black to look close to what they looked like originally... i think silver would look kinda tacky.
