Default Chevy vs. Pontiac Power Steering Pump

Folks, I am building a 1971 Trans Am resto mod and going to purchase a new Power Steering pump and pulley. The Chevy 1970's Chevy Power Steering pump and pulley are so much cheaper. Would this pulley work on the Pontiac or maybe with a slight modification? There seems to be alot of universal Power steering pumps out there that fit GM cars. Have any of you guys done this? Thanks for the help.

Different stagger of pump pulley.
Return line configuration on back of pump will not be the same.

Thanks for the reply. Its very difficult to find the offsets. I found one site that shows the pontiac is Offset: 0.73" (From Front of Pulley to Center of V-groove. Another site show the chevrolet and pontiac accept a .95 from the groove.

Cool, on top of all this I have an ATI dampner and had to order the pulley from ramair. I have also ordered one of those custom mounting kits. The pump and pulley have arrived. I will post the results of the install and pictures with a success or poor strategy and no fit story soon.
