could be just txt spamming but yes a hard reset will fix that mother...hopefully you have your pictures backed up to the cloud because you will lose everything.

You could connect it to a pc and manually backup your photos but use caution.

Most phones have a backup/restore utility that may help.

Are they only text messages? Or are pop-ups coming up on your phone outside of apps?

If they are only text messages it's usually nothing to worry about, just keep deleting them or attempt to block them.

Yes, if it is just txt nothing you can do except block or change yer #:

Block Text Messages on Samsung

In Samsung phone, open up Messages inbox, find out the text message from unwanted number that you prepare to block.
Tap and hold your finger on that message.
After that, you will get an option to get rid of the message and the other selection is "Add to spam numbers".
Select "Add to Spam numbers" and then a pop up message appears and informing you, click "OK" to finish the steps.

Emails (as long as you don't follow any link in them) are even less an issue than txt messages.

Basically some site or business you gave your email to, then sold it. Or someone that has your email on their contact list got a virus that is spamming all the contacts.
