A quick search of prior posts turned up mostly positive results. Anyone had work done by him?

Any other recommendations in the Dallas area?

Thanks

I have a buddy with a 69 GTO who used them. The motor was a bit tight on the clearances, but runs OK. Nothing special.
If you are not in a big hurry I recommend Cain's Performance in Plano. 972-578-1212. Give Michael Cain a call and see what he can do for you. He is not fast, but very good and is a straight shooter.

I think they built a buddy of mines dads 455, I don't remember if they fixed the screwups or if they did the screwups. BUT I know they have built some bada$$ motors. same goes for Rehr and Morrison, but when a friend of mine took his pontiac to R&M years agot they told him that they could not internaly balance his 455! he was like WHAT it was from the factory, why can't you. he told him holding the balncer and flywheel in his had "OH I thought it was extrnaly balanced". SO he left thinking these are the guys that BUILD prostock motors.

anyway e-mail Slow77ta and ask him about Barr
jhodges5747@sbcglobal.net he knows Shane (guy who's dad runs the barr motor) better than I do.

By the way they had mostly chevy's parked in the yard--vette's etc. The mechanic recommended another speed shop to tune my car--never heard of a shop doing a JOB HALF WAY.

Thirdgen455, Pontiac engines from the factory were externally balanced. Look at a flywheel or flexplate and you will see. That is why you can't just stick a Hayes flywheel on unless the engine was internally balanced.

what in the hell are you talking about? a extrnaly balanced motor will have a notch out of the balancer like a 400 SBC or 454 BBC and a counter weight on the flywheel. never in my life have I seen a pontiac with a notch on the balancer.

Maybe I should have said "imbalance". Hopefully this will explain it better than I. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...1&r=9456023911

yes 0 balanced would mean what I said internaly balnced, the internals are blanced so the flywheel and balncer have to be at a neutral balance. if you have to grind it to make it 0 balance yes, but anyone could look at a stock balancer and tell it is a internaly balanced motor
