Default 1969 parchment color

If any of you thought that the parchment vinyl used by Legendary and PUI was too gold (as do I), here is a bit of evidence.

The lighter boot (left) in the photo is an NOS piece just out of the box. It has 4-69 date stamped on the vinyl yardage and the box is dated 7-69 so it was produced during original production not years later. The repro (legendary) is a beautifully done piece that looks and fits great but as I suspected it has too yellowish gold tint while the original is more “Pearl gold..

Only other visible (once installed) minor issue are the rivets are too big and rounded.

Look to be a big difference. Maybe get someone to make new covers for you with the NOS if you have enough.

I don't have any yardage itself, I bought an NOS top boot that the yardage it's made with is dated 69-04

I recall discussions some years ago that the 68 was more gold in tone than the 67 and 69 Parchment.. Repro piece in your photo reminds me of the 68.

I like the original look a lot better . Doubt they’ll change it at all but would be nice, that’s so much better looking
