I have what I believe is a 2.78 with a Carrier 1 in a box at the bottom of a pile of boxes. If interested, I'll go dig it out and take pics.

I'm in New Jersey, so shipping might be an issue.

I have a '69 Firebird rear end, but not complete. Missing brake line bracket, brakes and drums. 2.78:1 gears unless replaced with something else. I'm a little north of the Twin Cities, MN.

Probably around $150. Carrier will be for 2.56:1 and 2.78:1. Axles, I believe, are std. fair. Don't remember any grumbling coming from rear when pulled. Has cover, bolts, backing plates, pinion yoke and straps.

I would gut it to build fresh with a posi unit in it, so housing & axles are all I will use. Will get with you in the spring, in no hurry to pick it up.

Check with John’s Muscle cars near Wymore, NE, just north of the KS NE border. Phone number is in the photo, leave a message and he will call back. You can spend hours and hours walking through 60s and 70s era cars.
