Default 1980 turbo pace car rear end paint

question was the rear end painted semi gloss black on the 19802 pace car trans am

I thought the pictures i have seen is the rear left the factory natural

Natural cast steel center, natural steel tubes. On the 3.08 posi coded rears, believe there was a large orange inspection mark on the bottom of cast center housing. Will ck a few original '80 housings to confirm.

mine doesn't look pretty but I don't to paint where there was none

you can always use paint colors to match the natural finishes and prevent ugly rust.
