Default Super turbine 300 switch to Muncie M20

Is there a difference in the drive shafts used with the 2 speed automatic and the 4 speed manual used on a 66 GTO?

Default Super turbine 300

I thought so. Wondering why they used different paint stripe indicators(yellow/purple on auto and red/white on 4 speed I think) some kind of balance issue?
