Excellent idea. Look into Funkhouser front brackets that are billet and have all the hardware countersunk into the brackets so they can be used with caltracs and allow mounting deeper into the pocket

I was just looking at those brackets last week. They are beautiful. They make a lot of really nice leaf spring suspension parts. He also has an online stores through Facebook (and Instagram) with more pictures but here’s a link to their website https://www.funkhouserracecars.com/

I’m headed there tomorrow to check on my TA. If you have any specific questions I can get answers.

I swung by the shop. They can make them in aluminum or steel. Your choice. Aluminum is more expensive obviously. They have a bronze bushing which is replaceable as a wear item. They are very well thought out.

I’ll buy the dfx file if you want to sell it. I need a set of brackets for my build and I don’t want to reinvent the wheel if you know what I mean. lol.

Nick owns the file, I'll ask him if he wants to share it. Keep in mind these will only fit fabricated valve covers and they are for Ign1a coils. (ie Holley smart coil, Mercruiser etc.)

Congrats to Nick for winning fastest Pontiac and placing third in his class (DYO Pro) at Sick Week 2023!
All of the hard work is paying off. The car survived the week of racing and road tripping from Orlando to Bradenton to South Georgia Motorsports Park to Gainesville and finally back to Orlando all while clocking mid eight second passes at each track. Also congrats to Rich Guido (Iron Man) for winning Stick Shift class in his 65 GTO. That man is a legend!

Just saw a teaser video from Joe Simpson regarding tuning the TA. Looking forward to the full video. I bought Joe Simpson’s “how to tune the trilogy” program in anticipation of tuning my Terminator X set-up. I’m about 1/4 way through the course.

Totally my fault for poor crimps on the street injectors. I overnighted a pre-made harness from Holley and that solved 90% of our street driveability issues. This proves a point that a lot of wiring gurus will tell you. The proper crimp tools, though initially expensive, are worth the investment.

So on day one we were chasing a boost issue. Found a crack in a weld on the intake. Nick had to do a field repair with a borrowed welder and the wrong shielding gas in a very windy environment. Wasn't pretty but it sealed up. Then we cracked the other side on day 3. Luckily one of the checkpoints was KSR fabrication, so Kevin let us use his equipment to repair it again. Saw Tony Angelo's TA on the Dyno. Cool checkpoint!

As it turned out after studying data logs the culprit was a bad dome pressure sensor. We discovered it on day 5 when on the first pass we hit a dome pressure safety which made the computer dump all CO2 and revert to wastegate.
Looking at dome pressure in the data logs, it was very unstable. Boost curve was all over the place causing spikes. In the picture the bad sensor is on the right and new sensor is on the left. Big difference. Another lesson learned. Don't use cheap sensors in critical components.
