Talking '69 Lemans.. 2 suprises under the hood !

so a gentleman and new friend introduces himself to me at my swap meet booth last year ... hes working on a 68 GTO convertible,,, and needs some parts...
get em together and deliver em to his shop .... all is good.... he says he has a car I may be interested in as he only bought it for the top windshield trim ...
nothin else fits his 68 .

uh ,,,,,,,, ok ..... come on lets go to the other end of the building he says ...

66 chevelles 65 chevelles ... elcaminos .... the I see a GTO front end cant be that im thinkin .... yup 69 Lemans convert ... my buddy wrecked and I bought it from him for the top windshield stainless for my 68 convert but nothin else is the same he says to me .... yah your right I tell him and the story goes from there

looked at the car in a dark semi lit storage building at night hood shut
we couldnt get it open
yah you know the story ...
charge the battery it will start right up he says.. ooh o k
its a fresh 350 and runs great he says ,,,,, yah ok ..... 4bbl headers and aluminum
intake hei and edelbock carb..... lots of parts for a 400 yah baby
or just a spare nice runner Im thinkin

made a deal and 3 months later the car is out of the corner
and ready for a tow home...
got it home yesterday and after 15 minutes of fighting
I finally get the friggin hood open

and what !!!! really !!!!!

yup its a 350 ... but really ??? ok well I say to myself... laughing ... go figure

jacked hood hinges ... dam .... wow hood looks pretty straight around the kink holes ... nice ...... 1 cast scoop 1 missing... wonder why??

then the sun shines the the scoop hole and I just a bout passed out...

the car has an endura with no emblem and 68 grilles ,,,pk they filled the holes...
nope no sign of filler as I was trying to get the hood open and only pinching my fingers a couple times till I got a pry bar
hmmm 69 lemans valance and I just figured 68 GTO hood also .....

Nope ............. suprise #2

You be the JUDGE .........
