Painting 17x9 Year One Honeycomb Wheels
I bought a set of the Year One Honeycomb Wheels for my 75 Trans Am a few years ago. I haven’t run them yet. I think they look a little bogus looking due to the slick silver finish. I ordered a few cans of Honeycomb Wheel paint to paint them with to make them more authentic. Has anybody ever done this? I also like the white letters that you can glue to the tires. I think it will make a sharp wheel and tire package. What are your thoughts on this?

I have a set and the finish has held up very well over the past 10 years. It would be hard for me to paint over it, especially with a spray can.
I think I understand the finish you are going for- I’m not sure you will get it since these wheels are so smooth. I would start out on the back to see how it looks. |

I'm on the fence about the 17s...never thought about the finish
Anything will be an upgrade from these torque thrusts... |

I have a set, like the look and the price, never minded that the center section is too shiny. Finding tall enough rubber in 17 “ rim size is a little scarce, almost need 18” rims for better tire selection.

I have 255/45/17 front and 285/40/17 rear but they are shorter than I would like. Car is not finished and sitting a bit high as not all the parts are in it.
But I still know I need taller rubber as the headers are going to scrape over everything once the car is at ride height. I’m going to switch to 255/50/17 front and 275/50/17 rear.
