My beef with a few brands of trunk W/S I've tried is that even though it may have the right cross section shape, it is too tough or firm so doesn't squish down enough. This doesn't allow the trunk lid to close fully allowing the dreaded 'gap-o-sis'!
What's been your experience with this brand? |

i used the common metro brand trunk seals on 3 of my 2nd gen cars. cant say for sure if its a correct match to original but it works great, no issues with the trunk lid not closing right or having a gap & it seals water tight. just like door or window seals, when new they will take a couple weeks to compress & fit to the car but after a short time they conform nicely & doors, windows, trunk lid close as they should.

One key is that it's not TOO thick, but seals. Also stays put if you install correctly. 90% of other brands do NOT sit in the channel correctly. These also pass the dollar bill test evenly. Year or so ago my buddy and I tried a bunch on his 74 and his 70, then on my 72 with same results. With correct thickness and install its easier to tell if your seal channel is bent down or up and or leaks.
