Opinions wanted on gauges
So my 68 GTO is still apart and I want to change over to rally gauges and a Repro tach . The rally’s are actually a 69 Repro . But then I saw these direct fits from Dakota . Spendy at $850 but I’ll 5 in Repro stuff . I’m a geek for stock but, reliable functionality go a long way . What do you guys think ?

Looks great and very visible. $850 sounds like a deal for all 3 pods. I like the stock look also, but am having trouble seeing mine in day and night.

To me, gauges are such a signature element of a car I can’t imagine swapping them for an aftermarket option.
I don’t understand the complaints about reliability the original set up. It’s a pretty simple set up. I’d be more inclined to buy a used set and have Pete Serio give them a run through. Mine are pretty dang accurate.

Stock Cluster has resilient function. Senders are simple to optimize. Ground wire from Cluster case to firewall makes the Rally Cluster modern-accurate.
Engine Ground strap from head to firewall completes the circuit. |
