'67 Pitman straight to curved
For a friend: original 6 cylinder, power steering car with straight pitman. Prior headers cleared but new combo does not. Curved arm would solve problem but which one? Ames piece won't seat on the shaft? Original steering box in and would like to keep it, so looking for info. Did a search but didn't find this specific issue so sorry if this is a rehash but appreciate any help or part if available. thanks, Mark O.

Scott, thanks but saw him earlier today and he did get the correct curved arm from RARE. Clears headers and steers correctly.

Rareparts makes the special curved pitman arms for the 67-68 V-8 firebirds that are not available at normal auto parts stores. The curved arm came on V-8 cars to clear the driver side exhaust pipe, 6 cylinder birds got the straight pitman arm same as a camaro. There is a difference in the one for manual steering or power steering the splined shaft size is different. Power is RP20798 and manual steering is RP20761.
