Hello all,
Let's start a miscellaneous discussion page with pics of our current project(s). Its fun and helpful checking out what we're all about, in need of help. There's always a pic out there of a project that someone is either in the middle of or is about to work on.

Sounds good. While we are at it, here's my '65 Tempest project:

Right now it's a bit of a sleeper, but I am in the process of cloning it. I have all the parts in my garage ready to go, except the taillights and tailpanel, which are just too expensive to be worth it. My Tempest rear pieces are NOS and look great, so I will leave those. The 400 and 4spd were added before my purchase. In the month that I have owned it, I have already added a Pypes system with cutouts, radial redlines, Rally IIs, a complete GTO interior, and a Q-jet rebuilt by Cliff R. Lots more parts to install, just waiting for spare time. Disc brake conversion with drop spindles and a front end rebuild are next. More pics to come as I move along.

My current project is the '65 GTO... my past project was the '69 Firebird which I sold last week. Looking for a 66-67 or a 70 GTO (A/C car..it's hot here) Will start on the front end rebuild sometime this year, discs, etc. Everything else is just about done except for the paint and body work.

Hi,
I have had the car for about a year. However, I have dinked around with the notion of possibly selling and I do have it listed in the 64-77 LeMans,Tempest GTO cars for sale, but only there. I'm not actively trying to sell and I'm not that serious about selling, but for the right offer, anything is for sale. I must say, the 65 Bluemist Slate is my dream color. The car posted above is absolutely stunning!
Thank you for posting. If I do decide to keep my LeMans, that's the color I want to paint her. The original color of my car is Palmetto Green. I have yet to see a 65 like mine with the vinyl top in that color. I love the GTO hood, emblems and considered applying to car before painting it, just to spruce it up. Maybe not the GTO emblems since I wouldn't be actually trying to make a clone. Please keep the pics coming. Also, wouldn't it be nice if the forum had a "Trading Post". Say, if anyone has a car they would consider for "trade", post it. We can offer that up here as well.

Hy Rudy... thaks for the compliment but trust me... the paint leaves a lot to be desired.. from 10 feet out it looks good but the paint is about 16 years old and it shows up close. The rest of the car is in very good condition though. Your LeMans is a very good looking car as well. I realy like that color combo (as you can tell from my Firebird )... I guess it was the PY forum I saw your LeMans for sale... I sometimes spend a few hours looking for cars and don't always remember where I saw them. My GTO is Fontaine Blue BTW... Jim

I have two projects going on. This one is for my '64 GTO streetcar. It is a 0.030 over 400 block with a cut down 428 crank to yield 434 ci. I am just waiting for the heads to finish it up.

This is the 482 for my '64 Tempest racecar. After a cam change it will go onto the dyno. We hope to get a dyno run next Saturday, May 8.

Trips4me,
Sorry about calling it the wrong color. I'll take your paint job anyday. Old man Taylor, wow nice engines you have there. What line of work may I ask has brought you to this level of performance? Also, if you guys get a chance, look in the 65-77 LeMans,GTO Tech forum. I have my original 2 barrel intake and carb I want to rebuild and replace whatever to do it right. Your input would be appreciated, fuel lines, fix auto choke, gaskets, brackets? Also, I need help tracking them down. Mike Nixon, I appreciate your input. The Summit line was a little unclear to me for gaskets. Being the novist here, I'm inexperienced at this sort of thing and I want to take my time and do it right. So, if I am redundent in some of my questions in various places, forgive me and be patient. I'm a little anxious about the whole thing and want to get it on the road ASAP.
Thank you to all who have helped me out in the Pontiac Forum and have contributed thus far to this page! I can't wait to get started.
Rudy

My line of work that has brought me to this level of performance is experience, old age and the school of hard knocks. My profession deals with the Engineering and Manufacturing of computer systems. My most recent role has been as a Project Manager across a couple of different plants. Cars and performance have always been a hobby. It has sometimes been a frustrating one, but never enough to get out of it.

I am almost finished with my '64 GTO project. Just a few more things to do. This car was dragged out of a barn ten months ago. Here's the latest pic:

Dick,
Is that your car? I agree, very nice!
No wonder you like my Red car. Is that the original color? 4 spd or auto? What color is the interior? Tri power or 4 barrel?

Look at that, 156 views so far and only 15 replies. Come on guys, send us pics of your projects. Any will do just fine. Here, I'll start with some upcoming concerns. I need to cut off my vinyl top to get to the rust around the front and rear glass. Any suggestions on how to approach the clean-up and removal of the trim, the top and the rust.
