Hi T/A Guy,
Give me until this coming Monday, or so, & I'll scan whatever I might find in this regard within the pages of my 1978 Pontiac Shop Manual for you (I'm going to be away for the weekend, starting in about 15 minutes!). Also, I'd rather send any & all scans directly to you: what's your e-mail address? Mine is gswynar@durham.net Have a great weekend...later! Eddy Newcastle, Ontario, Canada |

2nd gen F bodies. It shows the four wires to the buzzer/timer but only three of them can definitely be figured out. One gets lost between two page then the number location for it shows up in three or four locations. Some of it's the difference between standard and rally guages but it's all in one diagram and just makes it worse. The three known are fairly straight forward: 18 guage black to drivers side seat belt retractor, 18 guage pink with white stripe to instrument cluster plug for tell tale light, 18 guage pink hot from ignition switch, AND THEN the mystery wire that appears to be a ground wire for the tell tale light but is also shown as being grounded solid and possibly tied in with a door jamb switch. The dreaded mystery wire is why I didn't post on this. With a factory diagram you'll be able to clear the air on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi T/A Guy, a.k.a. DARRIN...!
Well, it took a whopping THREE e-mails with a total of SEVEN ATTACHMENTS---but my super slow dial-up service here just confirmed that EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about the 1978 seatbelt wiring & warning system (but were afraid to ask!) has been sent to you... Did you receive it all A-OK...? Lemme know, with my thanks in advance... Regards, Eddy Ontario, CANADA |
