Default 8 track don't work?

My 8 track in my 79 t/a dont work... could it possible just need to be cleaned? how do you do that?

Is the scratch noise coming from the speakers? I thought mine was bad and after checking it out I found the the motor was running and the problem ended up being bad speakers. Later I did replace the belt but mine works really good. Good luck

My first guess with the limited info you gave is that the belt needs replacing. If you don't want to diagnose it yourself, there are a few places you can send the unit to have a perfessionul recondition it.

Does the radio work ok? Have you tried different tapes and wiggling them a bit when they're in the unit?

Yeah sorry about the limited amount of info just going off memory from last year. And yes the radio does work... but it makes a weird sound when I use the power windows?
