Mike,

congrats on that #. Looking at the tq and hp what do you think your shift point will be?

The last number or two are off because he was rolling out of the throttle and the cell had a 8500 chip in it. I think we damaged a lifter while it was idling prior to another pull. We were pretty sure we could get it over 1070 maybe to 1075 with 4-6 more pulls. We also were about to do a sweep from 7000-8800 to get abetter picture of how it acted to 8500.

If I had to guess I'd say it wants 85-8600and should fall back to 76-7700 on the recovery. Car should pick up a little...

I showed a guy I work that has a BBC bracket car this picture this morning. He has raced Super Comp before and built a fair amount of BBC engines.

Me: Check this out; 1060 HP NA Pontiac.

Him: (fairly unintersted) Dang, that's pretty cool. What heads are on it?

Me: Ported Performer RPM's.

Him: WHAT?? Bull****!

I zoomed in on the pic and showed him.

Him: That's just crazy!

Thumbs up Impressive

Congratulations! Outstanding increase in horsepower. Mike seems like he won't leave any stone unturned in the search for more power. The results speak for themselves.

Really not bad for an "old worn out NA eheaded engine". Just imaging what you could do with some new, cutting edge parts.

Congrats again.

I noticed a nice carry past peak... Nice

Hope you DIDNT damage a lifter... yuk that usully makes a mess... maybe only a tweaked pushrod?

Your 1st pull was in percentage window of my WAG... a bit later you had KK power... I kind of figured you would do that... but then you start showin off... I'm coming to Norwalk! I expect to see you use every bit of this. (turns out wedding is following week and may not even occur) Im sure you'll try your best! More important put it to those Chevs Fords n Mopars out there before you get there! PontiacTTF!

I'm thinkin Marcella may be right... I think more refinement may indeed get you 1100+... never know till its tried... Easy? No!...

About 15-20 years ago you would have been ridiculed and scorched for thinking you could go here with performer rpm E heads(maybe even 10 yrs ago?)... My hat is off to you and others with the time, resources and skills to pull this off.

Of course now you have raised the bar for other heads out there... but thats a good thing... now the rest have to find at least another 50 more than expected... but the knowledge eventually trickles down and we all benefit.

I think the hardest thing is finding the person(s) with the commitment skills and resources to go after your accomplishment.

Enjoy the moment and best of luck going forward.

Bruce

PS EHTTFMF...for now

best case deal on the lifter. Yes its broke but no trash.

We really were having fun with it and it was still talking to us. we wanted to do some runs to 8800 to get a better look at the carry. I'm sure the numbers at 83-85 would have been better than it showed stopping at 8400 but oh well.

EHTTFMF indeed. prolly longer than anybody thought

Mike,

It was great meeting you Tuesday. Well done on your project. I wished I had more time to hang out but my Chinese friends could not wait. I'm very interested to see what engine does in the car.

Well done man,

Aaron
