Default 65 gto dash

Can't find this answer thru the restoration books my question is do all 1965 Pontiac GTO have the wood grain dash insert, asking the question because I thought all 65 gto had the wood grain dash looked at a GTO to purchase didn't have it and the seller told me it was optional with rally dash I have owned 65 gto without the rally dash and it had the wood grain I'm confused, thought the dash without the grain where used in tempest and lemans

Default Walnut wood insert for the dash bezel, 1965 GTOs.

From all that I have read and books I own, also the 100s of GTOs I've seen over the years the walnut applique for the dash bezel was included as part of the GTO option in 1965.

In 1965 GM; on the GTO option cars, used 2 different kinds of walnut (real wood) and a manufactured; pressboard imitation wood-like material. Either type of wood was then contact cemented onto a die-cut aluminum backer. Then the backer was cemented into the dash bezel

my 65 had the brushed aluminum 64 style dash when we got it in 1982 or so. but who knows, it could have been replaced by a 64 dash before we got it.
