Watching old Beverly Hillbillies show and 64 Pontiac Convert
Watching show for laughs. Usually they have Chrysler products. This was a white 64 Pontiac looked like a Bonneville convertible(long quarter panel). In front of front door looked like 421 flags. Episode ,A Man for Elly. Quirt Marly.

The actor who played Quirt was Henry Gibson, later of Rowen and Martin's "Laugh In" fame.

Interesting - I always watched the show but don't remember seeing that car. Turns out it had originally belonged to country western fashion designer Nudie, who later sold it to Roy Rogers. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/n...-mobile/182097 He also customized a car or two for country western star Webb Pierce.

Nudie did a couple dozen cars at least, I’ve seen photos of Pontiacs by Nudie from ‘58 to ‘70. Don Keefe probably has more info.
I saw a ‘64 some years ago on display at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Muscle Shoals. |

In the Country Music Hall of Fame, there is a '61 Bonneville convertible formerly owned by honky tonker Web Pierce. Saw this a few years ago when we were visiting Nashville. They also have one of the Smokey and the Bandit T/A's.

I thought I watched a program that talked about the cars that were used in shows like the Beverly Hillbillys & bewitched where the cars
were some of the early product placement advertising between the automakers & producers. I know for sure it happened on bewitched. Remember all the scenes where somebody would come to the house & would be a great shot of the car rolling up, parking at the curb & the driving heading to the front door. Never thought anything of it back when I was a kid watching those shows.

Its really surprising to me that a show which was almost entirely Chrysler would allow a Pontiac to have a role. Possibly the ad men refused to have on of their cars turned into a caricature. Great to see that the car survived.

It was great show.
It and others like Gilligan's Island and Petticoat Junction are part of the reason I turned out so well........

Its been awhile, maybe the same car? But there was one very similar in the Roy Rogers museum when it was in Cal. I believe the one there was Roys car.

Roy's car was the 1963 Bonneville was used on the Beverly Hillbillies show in the first post. The one at the hall of fame is a 1962, it was Web Pierce's car.
Roy Rogers was actually something of a gearhead, if you go back and look at issues of Hot Rod magazine from the late 1950s / early 1960s he attended a lot of racing events. |

You're right it was a Chevrolet Bowtie logo, but it morphed into the round moon.
