Default 1963 Tempest race car body

A friends widow got in touch with me over the weekend offering to sell this car. I have not seen it yet but what I was told is that it has a chopped top and a roll cage installed. No front suspension or rear suspension. Her husband had a great time building drag cars when he was alive including several firebirds. I am going to call her this afternoon and arrange a time to meet her and get some pics of the car. I can text pics but I do not know how to post them here.

Let me know if there is any interest and I will see what can be done.

Did they chop the top just to make it easier to install and weld the "cage" in the car?

I did one that I had, simply because I never liked the fact that the roof appears to go up, as it goes forward...

I removed 3/4 inch from the windshield posts, some from the center door posts, and pulled the roof forward until the windshield posts were back together...People that didnt know those cars, never noticed that it was cut down...

Those 63 are already chopped. Not like a 64 which gives them character.

I looked at it years ago. Too hard a chop for me, if a donor available might be worth it. She was a good Pontiac racer, well respected locally among Pontiac racers. Husband was a Ford guy. They had good running cars. Might be some good parts there. They were good friends. Sorry for her loss.

I went to look at this body, I honestly cannot get pics of the car yet because of it being buried in the garage. The body has been is this garage for over 20 years untouched since it was put up on jack stands.

Visiting an old thread with an update. Got the car at home along with many parts for it, there were so many parts in the garage I just brought everything home and am sorting them out now. As soon as that is done I will have pics posted and a price for it. I have not forgotten the personal messages I have received.

Thanks, Mark
