Default Solid valve spring vers hydraulic

Can anyone explain whats the difference between solid vers hydraulic valve springs....got heads with a solid valve spring set up.. want to run a hydraulic cam now ..so is it possibble to run the solid springs if the hydraulic cam is similar to the solid cam....

Short Answer NO ! , you must know that actual spring seat closed pressure #'s and lift clearances. If you were referring to Hyd-Roller then that pressure is close to a Flat tappet Solid

Do you know the set up spec's on those spring the head is assembled with now?

Default Valve springs

Dont know about the spring spec... had to remove them and test the pressure rates....so i know what i got......since i dont have a mechanical cam in the moment only hydraulic in the garage .. ill think a change to hydraulic springs

Curious, what were the results ? Presuming they were tested on a calibrated spring tester at their actual verified installed height with their retainers.

Had to test them .....but must order a springtester before..but also not cheap..lol

What's the current installed height from spring seat/shim up to under retainers installed ?

kida putting the cart in front of the horse here....

1st have springs tested for seat pressure AT installed height...then coil bind height.

THEN...you have something to work with....THEN spend money as needed...

In my opinion use a bench type spring tester and not a 'on the head' type of tester. There can be a considerable difference in the results between the two types.
